Greetings, I've been an LMT for over 21 years and have well over 20,000 hours of practice. My initial training was very clinical, and I specialized in sports massage and injury evaluation. Over the years I've worked in most settings MTs work though really settled into the luxury hotel spa world for a decade. I loved the beautiful surroundings and lighting and aesthetics and environmental psychology aspects exalted in spa world and very much incorporate that experience into my home spa. Though I definitely have great clinical skills I tend to approach my work from a more holistic, relaxing place balancing deeply therapeutic work with techniques meant to relax, balance and shift mind from its fixation on pain and stress.
I excel at working with athletes and those cultivating a strong connection with their mind and body.
In addition to these more spa and deep tissue modalities I am also very focused on Craniosacral therapy and meditation coaching. To me all massage can be a facilitated meditation as massage sensations make it very easy for mind to still and focus on touch, aromatherapy and sensation. This causes a meditative state to happen by default and is the dreamlike la-la land good massage tends to transport people to.
To me cranial is perhaps best for this though it is very different than deep tissue work yet has capacity to go even deeper. For those interested I offer this work at slightly lower rates.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to plan a session!
I work from home in a lovely historic building in Irvington near the Lloyd Center.
Thank you!!
